5K

Running Shoes

We have had vacations and missed days but overall we have been very consistant. For the last few weeks we have been running 10/1's. This means that we run for 10 minutes and then walk 1 minute. We measured how far we had gotten last week, and were discouraged to find that it was only 1.6 miles in 20 minutes. Well, today I went running with my Mom to help her run the 21 miles she has to do in preparation for the marathon she is running in Italy. She asked me to run 3 - 10/1's. I told her I would, but was very nervous about keeping up with her or being able to run that long. So, you can imagine my surprise when at the end- I had run my first 5K! I ran 3.2 miles today in 38 minutes. That included 5 minutes of walking. This means that I ran a little over a 11 minute mile. I am really excited. I never thought that I would ever run a 5K. I would never use the word athlete to describe myself. Even today, in this moment, I wouldn't. But for today I can say that I am a runner- and that is an accomplishment that I am proud of.

Over the Hill and Far Away....

Teletubbies come to play! Logan is in love with the Teletubbies! This is the first "thing" that he can not get enough of. He can be screaming and throwing a 2 year old fit, but if I say "Do you want to watch the Teletubbies?", he runs to the TV and turns it on. I know that there are some out there who are opposed to the Teletubbies, or as Logan calls them, the Tee-Tees. I am not one of those people. I can not put into words the joy it brings me to see him so happy! The wonder, the excitment, the joy on his face is amazing! It doesn't hurt that it keeps him occupied for 20 minutes so that I can do the dishes, straighten up, or fold some laundry. I appreciate the Teletubbies, and I know Logan does too. So, all that background to say that after 5 days of searching all over Austin I finally located one Teletubby DVD. I could not be happier. I now have Teletubby power at my disposal. I am so happy right now. Well the sun is setting in the sky, time for Teletubbies to say "Bye Bye."

Bag Tagged!

So, my Sister-in-law Emily bag tagged me. I guess this means that I must expose the contents of my purse. Lucky for me I just bought a new "bag" and reorganized it. He He! I am so lucky, because had she got me 24 hours ago this would have been a nightmare! So here it goes.

The "bag" is a Swatch Diaper bag from Target! I love Target!
Contents:
Diaper Changing pad, Diapers, Wipes
Toddler Cup full of water
Check Book and Wallet
Orbit Gum and Chapstick
Crackers
Assorted toys and books
A couple of toy cell phones
My cell phone
My keys with a Dory keychain
A valentine I recieved from my good friend Ms. Anna Adams with some chocolates from Lamme's Chocolates here in Austin. YUMMO!

So, I now "tag" Mindy, and Abby. Have fun!

Famlies that Laugh Together 2

Here are some more pictures of our trip!

Logan loved sledding down the hill. Dad decided that it would be best to give him a ride back up the hill in the tobaggon! Logan's snowsuit was so thick that it was a pretty stiff ride.

My two oldest children out on the trail- Paul and Sierra

I had to take a picture of the kids next to Vicky's baby pine tree. She loved this tree. It was all she talked about the whole way up to the cabin. As you can see it has a way to go! Good luck little tree- may you be all the pine tree you can be!

My favorite picture of the kids on the "Kitty Kat" snowmobile. Sierra got the hang of driving it around. She was a natural. Logan loved driving on the big snowmobiles too! I also love this picture because even though the kids are wearing helmets and face masks you can still tell they are smiling when you look in their eyes!

Here we all are back in August here in Austin- we are so grateful to have such amazing friends. Thanks for the great time in the land of cheese! We love you guys!

Families that Laugh Together, Last Forever!

Last week we had the joy of going and visiting our good friends Kurt, Vicky, Kurtis and Kirsti Debenedetto! We met them when we were living in Vegas. Kurt and Paul worked together and Carmax and Vicky and I became inseperable. They came and visited us in Austin in August so we went and visited them in Oconomowac, Wisconsin last week. We had a blast! We love them so much! Our slogan when we get together is "Familes that laugh together, last forever," we have adopted this completly. The time we spend together is full of laughter and fun! They are the greatest friends ever! So, here are a few of the pictures that we took on our journey!

Here we are on the plane heading for the 5 degree weather. Hey it only felt like -12 when we got there!

We had a layover in Memphis, TN and since we don't ever know if we will be there again we had to try some BBQ! They had some amazing pork! The sauce was also exceptional. Thanks Jim Neely's!

After spending one day in Oconomowac, we headed north to a cabin Kurt's family owns up north. Well, I don't know about you but when in Wisconsin if you see a cheese chalet you stop and wear a cheese hat. The cheese curds were also very tasty! I knew I loved cows for a reason!

This is the view from the cabin we stayed at. You are looking down onto a lake that we snowmobiled on. We also fed deer in this backyard, and saw a flock of 14 wild turkeys cross the lake! Later we saw Canadian geese! EH!

Here is Sierra getting air off the jump that Paul and Kurt created for the kids. What I would have payed for a picture of Paul completly biffing it on the trial run! Priceless!

Look out Project Runway

Sierra is into fashion. For christmas she asked for two journals. One she writes down all of her life events. The other she draws her "fashions." I spend a lot of time looking at and complimenting her on her fashion choices. Today we went through her dresser and in doing so found this shirt and pair of shorts. Soon after this she was asked by her Dad if she wanted to go for a ride in his convertable demo and she ran in her room and got dressed. This was the ensamble that she created! Evidentally she is channeling Betsy Johnson. Honestly what I would give to be a kid again. I love that you can tell from her pose and her grin that she knows how amazing she looks. And she is amazing. This girl will be whatever she wants to be- look out Project Runway!

Wario World!

If you asked most people that know my husband, Paul, how they would describe him they would not include the word silly. This only means that they do not fully know my husband. He is very silly when the time is right! Allow me to introduce you to my silly Paul! Please enjoy the experiance of Paul playing one of the best Wii games ever, Wario World!
